Sri Lankan government asked to provide immediate relief to people affected by adverse weather
Sri Lanka's Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) affiliated organization Peoples Wall of Comradeship (PWC) says the government needed to immediately provide relief to the persons affected by adverse weather conditions, especially in the North and East Provinces.

Sri Lanka Police fire tear gas on Marxist party protest
Sri Lanka police today fired tear gas and used water cannons to disperse a protest march organized by the Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) in Colombo to protest the recent fuel price hike by the government.
Thousands of party members and supporters of JVP took to the streets of Colombo today against the increase in fuel prices and its adverse impact on the masses.

Sri Lanka Marxist organization complains of preventing lawyers from visiting rebel prisoners
The Marxist party, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), affiliated 'We Are Sri Lankan', an organization that is agitating for the release of Tamil detainees in Sri Lanka, is to complain to the Chief Justice and the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) on prison officials preventing lawyers from visiting the Anuradhapura Prison.

Sri Lanka Marxist party accuses government of exaggerating the flood damage

Four members of Sri Lanka's Marxist party affiliated medical union arrested
