SriLankan Airlines enters into agreement with Amadeus

SriLankan Airlines increases flights to Riyadh

Sri Lanka's national carrier, SriLankan Airlines has added more flights to the Saudi Arabian destination, Riyadh, from next month to meet the increasing demand from Saudi Arabia to Colombo, and through Colombo, to India and other Far East destinations.

SriLankan Airlines considering flights to more Indian destinations

A delegation from Sri Lanka's national carrier SriLankan Airlines is scheduled to visit Visakhapatnam in India on September 11 to study the potential demand for operation of flights from that city to Colombo. According to a report in Indian daily The Hindu, members of the delegation are slated to interact with airport officials, tour operators, and business leaders to study the potential and make a recommendation to launch operations based on the demand.

SriLankan to start daily flights to Beijing and Shanghai from next week

Sri Lanka's national carrier, SriLankan Airlines will commence daily direct flights to Beijing and Shanghai from 15 July to accommodate the increasing number of Chinese tourists. With this new flight schedule, the total number of flights operated by SriLankan to China and Hong Kong increases to 21 per week. Presently, SriLankan flies three times a week to Beijing and four times a week to Shanghai with a stopover at Bangkok. It also flies four times a week to Guangzhou (Canton) and three times a week to Hong Kong.

Sri Lanka's national carrier, SriLankan Airlines will start a direct daily flight to and from Kuwait from the 1st of May. Lal Perera, Regional Manager of SriLankan in the Middle East and Africa has told the Kuwait Times the need for the direct flight has become essential.

Sri Lanka's national carrier to recruit more pilots

Sri Lanka's national career SriLankan Airlines says more pilots will be recruited with its plans to expand the services. Under its planned route expansion program, the airline plans to increase its fleet size to 30 aircraft by 2015. The carrier re-launched services to Zurich in Switzerland earlier last month.

SriLankan Airlines re-launches services to Zurich

Sri Lanka's national carrier, SriLankan Airlines has re-launched services to Zurich (ZRH) in Switzerland recently. The service, began on January 03 will initially operate twice-weekly flights on Monday and Friday to the Swiss city. One flight will be non-stop from Colombo and the Zurich-Colombo flight will operate via Male in the Maldive Islands.
