Sri Lanka's Northern Muslims are yet to be resettled, Minister says

Sri Lankan Minister of Industries and Commerce and All Ceylon Muslim Congress (ACMC) Leader, Rishad Bathiudeen says the government has not yet taken necessary measures to resettle the large number of displaced Muslim families.



Bathiudeen has said that he together with ACMC Wanni District MP Hunais Farook would work with the government to resettle the Northern Muslims who were driven away from their homes in the North by LTTE in 1990.

The Minister, who was also a victim of the mass eviction by the LTTE resettled in the Puttalam District along with around 70,000 displaced Muslims.

According to Bathiudeen, Northern Muslims would be resettled in their own lands after completing the resettlement of displaced Tamil civilians.
