Sri Lanka's Rathnapura district United National Party MP Ranjan Ramanayaka says that the information regarding the police investigations on the agency that sent underaged Rizana Nafeek as a housemaid to Saudi Arabia using forged documents is still a mystery.
The MP further said that there might be a number of persons involved in the forging of the documents like the birth certificate etc. and inquired about the legal action taken against them.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau Kingsley Ranawaka also told a local newspaper Divaina that the Bureau failed to obtain details of the police investigation regarding the culprits.
The Inspector General of Police N.K. Illangakoon has said that he would call for reports regarding this incident.
Rizana Nafeek was sentenced to death for murdering the son of the Saudi employer, a four month old baby boy. Rizana claims the baby accidentally choked while the parents claim she committed premeditated murder. She was 17 years old at the time she allegedly committed the crime.
