Sri Lanka Petroleum Industries Minister directs CPC to probe allegations of selling substandard fuel

Petroleum Industries Minister of Sri Lanka Susil Premajayantha has directed the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to conduct an immediate inquiry into the alleged importation and distribution of substandard fuel.
The Minister has issued the directive to CPC Chairman, Harry Jayawardena, following complaints received from several areas where motorcycles and three wheelers have stalled after pumping substandard fuel.

Minister Premajayantha has asked the CPC for a report on the matter.

The CPC has been asked to test fuel samples from the fuel stations that have allegedly sold the substandard fuel.
