Sri Lanka Reconciliation Commission not to comment on Panel report's references to it

Sri Lanka's Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) has decided not to make any statement with regard to references made about it in the report by the panel of experts appointed by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Sri Lanka.

The LLRC has decided to let the Commission be judged by its work, a spokesperson for the Commission has said.

LLRC media spokesperson Lakshman Wickremasinghe has told the media that the Commission has decided to take a more "dignified approach" by not making any comments on the work of another panel.

"The subject work of the panel is similar to that of the LLRC," he has said.

"Let the LLRC be judged by its work," Wickremasinghe has added.

However, he said the LLRC would bear in mind the contents of the UN panel report, but would continue with its work as planned.
