The main constituent of Sri Lanka's ruling alliance, Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will finish interviewing of prospective candidates for the local government election expected to be held in March.
The party had finished interviews of candidates from most of the districts by Monday, SLFP sources said.
The interviews were held at district level. The district nomination boards are submitting the nomination lists to the party secretary Maithripala Sirisena.
The nomination lists are to be compiled by January 20. The party expects to file the nominations by January 22, SLFP sources said.
