The Sri Lankan government is considering to convert the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLFEB) into an authority.
Foreign Employment Promotion Minister Dilan Perera has told the media that his Ministry is looking at introducing legislation next year to convert the SLFEB into an authority.
According to Perera, there were certain loopholes in the law with regard to the establishment of the Bureau and all such issues have to be addressed.
The Minister has observed that in the process, the Ministry has received proposals for the benefit of migrant workers and employment agencies.
