Sri Lanka President immediately reinstates Gotabhaya as the Defense Secretary

Sri Lanka President reinstated Gotabhaya Rajapaksa as the Secretary to the Ministry of Defense for his second term.


The President holds the Ministry of Defense under himself and appointed Gotabhaya Rajapaksa as the secretary of his Ministry immediately after the swearing-in of the new Cabinet.


The President ceremoniously granted the appointment letter to the Secretary at the President's office today.
Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is the younger brother of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. He held the position since 2005 and led the country to defeat terrorism and vanquish the Tamil Tiger rebels.
