The Sri Lankan Navy today (22) said that it had not carried out any kind of attacks on the Indian fishermen who strayed in to Sri Lankan waters.
Navy Spokesman Captain Athula Senaratne told the local media that the Sri Lanka Navy does not want to adopt any pre-planned attacks on fishermen.
Captain Senratne has made this statement in response to the statement made by Indian Naval Officer Vice Admiral K. N. Sushil about Sri Lanka Navy not adopting a 'pre-planned' method in attacking Indian fishermen who strayed in to Sri Lankan waters.
According to the Sri Lanka Navy Spokesperson, there is absolutely no requirement to adopt a 'pre-planned' method as the navy had not attacked any Indian fishermen in any instance.
Vice Admiral Sushil told Indian media yesterday that he doesn't think that there was any incident, when Sri Lanka deliberately opened fire on Indian fishermen.
The Indian naval officer observed that India's relationship with Sri Lanka, Government to Government and Navy to Navy was very good.
