Blackflag demonstration against actress Asin

Four persons were arrested for attempting to stage a black flag demonstration against Tamil actress Asin in Mettupalayam, about 40 KM from here, when she reached there for a film shooting, today, police said.

They were protesting against the actress who, despite a ban imposed by an association, had participated in a recent Film Festival held in Sri Lanka, sources said.
The protestors also raised slogans that Asin, who had also acted with Aamir Khan in the Hindi film 'Ghajini, should not act in Tamil films in future, they said.

A few months ago, Tamil film associations had urged Indian film industry to boycott Sri Lanka for business protesting alleged excesses committed by the island army against Lankan Tamils during the ethnic war.
