A high-level delegation from Tamil Nadu led by Education and Archaeology Minister Thennarasu called on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi here Monday to discuss the statues of Tanjavur's ancient king and queen that are in a Gujarat museum.
The team acquainted Chief Minister Narendra Modi with the two-day millennium celebrations of the famous Brihadishwarar temple of Tanjavur in Tamil Nadu that begins Sep 25 and also conveyed the greetings extended by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
The delegation including Tamil Nadu Tourism Secretary V.Irai Ambu, archaeologists Nagasami, Thiru Natana Kashinathan and K. Balasubramanyam besides Minister Thennarsu. They expressed a wish to take back with them the statues of Tanjavur's king Rajrani Ola and Queen Lokmahadevi, which is presently with the Gautam Sarabhai Archeological Museum of Gujarat for the millennium celebrations.
The Tamil Nadu minister also discussed issues related to the educational institutes of Saurashtrian Tamil community residing in Tamil Nadu, a pressnote issued by the state
