Main opposition to vote against Sri Lankan government's constitutional amendments

The Working Committee of Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (UNP) today decided to vote against the proposed constitutional reforms when they are debated in parliament next week
.Opposition and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe informed the media of his party's decision after the conclusion of the Working Committee meeting.
The UNP Working Committee met today to decide on the party's stance on the constitutional amendments.
The constitutional amendments have been presented to the Supreme Court to determine if they are consistent with the Constitution.

The draft bill of the amendment is to be tabled in parliament next week for a two-day debate.
