UNP appoints committee to prepare party for the local government polls

Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (UNP) has appointed a committee for the upcoming Local Government election headed by Deputy Leader of the party, Karu Jayasuriya.

The UNP has appointed the committee for the party to enter the local government elections as a strong contender.
UNP Chairman Gamini Jayawickrama Perera, party secretary Tissa Attanayake and Joseph Michael Perera are the other members of the committee.

The committee is to submit proposals on how the UNP should face the upcoming local government elections next year.
