The United States Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert O. Blake, Jr. will travel to Colombo, Sri Lanka July 21 and Male, Maldives July 22, the State Department announced Monday.
The former US Ambassador to Sri Lanka is expected to have consultations with the Sri Lankan government, political parties, business leaders, and civil society.
Blake met Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa recently in April at the SAARC summit in Thimpu, Bhutan.
This is Blake's first visit to Maldives since he was appointed as the Assistant Secretary.
