Indiana Buddhist Temple holds annual Poson celebrations



Fort Wayne, IN: Indiana Buddhist Temple in Fort Wayne , Indiana held its annual Poson Poya celebration and 7th anniversary of the Temple on July 03, 2010 at the Temple premises.

The Poson program of the day included meditation, Dhamma talks and discussions, a movie - Life of the Buddha, Buddha Puja, Pirith chanting and a candle lighting ceremony (Pahan Pooja).
Ven. Y. Sankichcha Thera, Ven. N. Jinananda from the Great Lakes Buddhist Vihara and Ven. M. Pannaloka Thera from Dharma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara, Los Angeles conducted the meditations and Thera Dhamma discussions under the guidance of Ven. T. Dewananda Thera, the abbot of Indiana Buddhist Temple.
Ven. Dewananda and Ven. N. Seelawimala theros led the evening Buddha Pooja and Pirith chanting.
In the evening devotees lit 2,000 candles in the temple premises. Kusum Samaranayake and family from Georgia sponsored the candle lighting ceremony.
The Temple held a Poson Dansala (supper) for all the attendees.
