Thai Red shirts leader Seh Daeng dies of wounds - Hospital director

Red shirts leader Maj. Gen. Khattiya Sawasdiphol, better known as Seh Daeng, died from injuries sustained after being shot in the head near a rally site on Thursday, a hospital director said.
Seh Daeng, which means Red Commander, was shot near Sarasin intersection in Bangkok during an interview with The International Herald Tribune on May 13.Seh Daeng was pronounced dead at 9:20 a.m. local time, according to the director of the Vajira Hospital, who announced his death at a press conference. He was 59.On Sunday, Former Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra called for “a new, genuine and sincere dialogue between the parties” and for UN mediation as the death toll in the clashes between troops and “red shirt” protestors reached 33.
“I call for the United Nations to immediately engage to act as facilitator for this negotiation,” Shinawatra said in a statement.At least 33 people were killed and more than 200 others were injured in clashes in the Thai capital of Bangkok since Friday, according to the latest toll.
