Two Tamil MPs of Sri Lanka government coalition convened a press conference today to protest the actions of the Tamil diaspora against the President Mahinda Rajapaksa during his visit to the UK.
Colombo district Parliamentarian Praba Ganeshan and Nuwara Eliya district Parliamentarian P. Digambaram condemned the disruptive actions of the Tamil diaspora and urged them to assist to rebuild the lives of the displaced Tamils if they really want to help them.
The actions of the Tamil diaspora break the building up of harmony between the Tamil and Sinhala communities, Ganeshan said.
Ganeshan and Digambaram were elected as MPs of the opposition United National Party (UNP) but joined the government to strengthen the hands of the President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
