Yeddyurappa grants Rs one crore to temple in TN

Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, who has been seeking divine blessings to end his political woes, today announced a Rs one crore grant for the construction of a guesthouse at a temple in Tamil Nadu.

Yeddyurappa, facing heat from the Opposition over alleged land scams, made the announcement while offering worship at the Balasubramanya temple.

He also laid the foundation stone for the guesthouse being built by the temple authorities.

Yeddyurappa had last month rushed to Vaishnodevi temple to pray for his continuation as the chief minister after BJP high command contemplated directing him to step down in the wake of allegations of corruption and nepotism against him.
The party top brass, however, allowed Yeddyurappa to continue in office.
