Mahela nominated for several categories at LG ICC Awards 2010

Sri Lanka's Mahela Jayawardena has been nominated for several categories at the LG ICC Awards 2010 to be held in Bengaluru, India on 6th October.

Mahela Jayawardena features prominently in the long-lists for the awards among Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis from South Africa, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag from India, and Shane Watson and Doug Bollinger from Australia.
Along with the Sri Lanka team captain Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela has been nominated as Cricketer of the Year and Test Player of the Year.
Jayawardena has been selected in the Twenty20 International Performance of the Year category for his performance at the T20 World Cup for his century off of 64 balls against Zimbabwe on May 3 and not out 98 off of 56 balls against West Indies on May 7.

Other Sri Lankan players nominated were Thilan Samaraweera for Test Player of the Year, Tillekeratne Dilshan for ODI Player of the Year, Angelo Mathews for Emerging Player of the Year and Nuwan Kulasekara for Twenty20 International Performance of the Year.
