Chief minister M Karunanidhi on Sunday expressed gratification over early engineering admission trends that show that students are not averse to choosing Tamil medium courses offered by the College of Engineering, Guindy in Anna University.
Writing for his party daily, he said the government had introduced mechanical engineering course in Tamil medium in 12 government colleges and civil engineering in 11 institutions. Since counselling began on July 5, as many as 22 students chose to join Tamil medium courses. As the counselling would go on for more than a month, many more were expected to join the courses, he said.
"The trend is a big boost to our slogan, 'Tamil everywhere, Tamil in everything',"he said and added that there was even a demand that Tamil medium should be introduced in government, aided and private engineering colleges.
