Tamils in Northern Sri Lanka protest against Muslim Minister

Members of Sri Lanka's major Tamil party Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and the Tamil community in the northern town Vavuniya have staged a protest today against a Muslim government minister. The Tamil community in Vavuniya is carrying out a protest march today against Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiyutheen alleging that the Minister only serves the Muslim community. They have taken to the streets to protest the Minister Bathiyutheen's alleged bias towards the Muslim community. The protesters have complained that out of the 1,000 houses built by the Indian housing project to resettle the people in the Chettikulam camp in Vavuniya, 800 had been given to the Muslim community and only 200 houses were granted to the Tamil community, Ceylon Today reports.
