Over 40 former LTTE cadres taking Ordinary Level examination in Sri Lanka

The Sri Lankan government has paved way for 46 former rebel cadres to take the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination. These students were child soldiers and cadres of the defeated terrorist outfit Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). They are being rehabilitated in the military run establishments after surrendering to the security forces at the end of the war in May 2009. A special examination center has been established at Vavuniya Tamil Central College for the former LTTE members. The military coordinator of rehabilitation in Vavuniya said the students have been provided with all necessary facilities. G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination started at 4048 centers yesterday and 542,260 candidates including 387,593 school students are taking the national examination this year
