Marxist party claims Sri Lankan government is on a downward path

Sri Lanka's Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) says the current government is now on a downward path after failing to address the people's needs. JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva said
that many powerful governments that have exhibited strength for many years have had a point when they start their downward paths. The current government has now reached that point and it was now evident to the people, Silva said. He noted that the first step was the dissention within the governing party that has now come out even on the election campaign for the three provincial councils. "Once the downward journey commences, there's no turning back. Absolute power corrupts absolutely and then brings down the government," Silva said.
