Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (UNP) says the government is trying to ruin the future of the younger generation by creating a mess in the education sector.
UNP parliamentarian Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said
the government has not taken any steps to address the issue of messes in the question papers of national level examinations although it has become a common occurrence. The MP explained that there have been issues over question papers of every national level exam in the past few years and pointed out that the students who are sitting for the GCE Advanced Level examination this year had to face issues over several question papers. According to Kariyawasam, apart from the students sitting for the exam this year, even those who sat for the exam last year are facing issues over the Z-scores. He called on the government to immediately address the issues in the education sector as a matter of priority.
