Sri Lanka Attorney General yet to advise on two former LTTE leaders

Sri Lanka police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today informed the Colombo Magistrate Court that the Attorney General's advice has not yet been received regarding the two former leaders of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
The two former LTTE seniors are Velayuthan Dayanidhi alias Daya Master who was the media spokesman of the LTTE and Velupillai Kumaru Pancharathnam alias George Master who was the translator for LTTE leader Prabhakaran. The two former LTTE leaders have surrendered to Sri Lanka Army on 22nd of April 2009 during the final stages of the war between government forces and the LTTE. Following their surrender, they were brought to Colombo and held in custody under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. They were later released from remand custody on bail while the court proceedings continued. The former LTTE leaders have confessed to their past activities at the rebel outfit to the CID. The Magistrate ordered to obtain the consultations of the Attorney General urgently and postponed the case till November 26.
