The key collation party of Sri Lanka's governing United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA), the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has appointed a four-member committee to propose the mechanism to implement recommendations of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC).
SLFP General Secretary, Minister Maithripala Sirisena said
the party's Central Committee has appointed a committee comprising Ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva, Prof. G.L. Peiris and Basil Rajapaksa and President's Counsel Saliya Mathew. He explained that this committee would prepare a report on the implementation of the LLRC recommendations. He observed that the committee is currently preparing the report and would be completed within a few weeks. According to Sirisena, the committee would submit the report once completed to the party's Central Committee for approval.
