Basil Rajapaksa who is a senior adviser of the President and also the Minister of Economic Development will coordinate all political and development activities of the Kolonnawa electorate.
The government media unit said the President made the temporary appointment on the request of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
Kolonnawa electorate is amidst political turmoil as the two major organizers of the ruling alliance are now out of service. One organizer Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra was killed with three of his supporters in a clash with the other organizer MP Duminda Silva who is also on life support after sustaining gunshot injures.
