Representatives of eight Sri Lankan Tamil political parties summoned to India

Political sources say India has summoned the representatives of eight Tamil political parties of Sri Lanka with the aim of reaching a common platform regarding a political solution to the sri Lankan Tamil issue.

The representatives of Tamil National Alliance (TNA), Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF), Factions of Eelam People's Revolutionary Liberation Front (EPRLF), Factions of People's Liberation Organization of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE), Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO), Eelam National Democratic Liberation Front (ENDLF) and Tamil Congress have been summoned to India.

They are to participate in a seminar organized by the Indian Congress Party MP Sudarshan Nachchiappan on a political solution in Sri Lanka.

Senior officials of Indian government and the political leaders of India are expected to take part in the seminar scheduled for August 23 and 24.
