A Sri Lankan court today has issued an enjoining order suspending courts from hearing a petition filed against the appointment of the main opposition United National Party (UNP) National Organizer.
The Mount Lavinia Court has reportedly issued an order temporarily suspending hearings on the petition filed by UNP Southern Provincial Councilor Maithri Gunaratne challenging the appointment of parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake as the party's National Organizer.
Gunaratne has told the media that the court had provided time till August 4 to present information in this regard.
Gunaratne filed a petition at the District Court citing several party seniors including Opposition and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe as respondents.
