President hands over houses to war veterans

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today ceremonially handed over the ownership to war veterans of the houses built under the fourth phase of the 'Api Wenuven Api' Housing Project in Monaragala and Badulla Districts.

President Rajapaksa as the Commander-In-Chief presided over the ceremony held at the Ethiliwewa Junior School in Thelulla Moneragala.


Seen here is the presentation of a house by the President to disabled corporal J.K.Vipula Kumara.
The "Api Wenuwen Api" housing project launched by the Ministry of Defence plans to construct 700 housing units island-wide for the war veterans.
Ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva, Sumedha Jayasena, Jagath Pushpakumara, Lakshman Senevirathne, Vijith Vijithamuni de Soyza, Secretary to the President Lalith Weerathunge, Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Uva Province Chief Minister Shashendra Rajapaksa, and the Commanders of the tri forces participated in the ceremony.
