Sri Lankan President says LLRC report would be credible unlike Darusman report

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa said the report of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) would be credible unlike the Darusman report. Rajapaksa made this comment to media heads at Temple Trees today.

The President said that the term of the Commission has been extended following a request made by it, as the government was keen on ensuring the credibility of the LLRC report.

When asked if the delay in issuing the final report would create more difficulties for the government in the face of the Darusman report, Rajapaksa said the Darusman report is not credible while the LLRC report would be.

The President said the government was keen on reconciliation.
