Sri Lankan government minister ready to sacrifice his life to protect the country

A Sri Lankan government minister has said that he has trained a team to protect the country and the President.
Public Relations and Public Affairs Minister Mervyn Silva has said that he has trained a group of 19 members including him, who are ready to lay down their lives to protect the country.

The Minister had made this comment after signing a petition against the Darusman Report in Anuradhapura. The government a few weeks earlier launched a petition against the Darusman Report to collect signatures from all parts of the island.

According to Silva, President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa, and Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa are the engineers of Sri Lanka's rapid development and he was therefore ready to sacrifice his life to protect them.
