Mysterious power failure as Sri Lanka's ex-Army Commander delivers the dock statement

Power failed in Sri Lanka's court complex today when the former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka was about to deliver the dock statement of the famous 'white flag' case.

Fonseka was getting ready to deliver the dock statement with the assistance of a microphone when the power failure occurred around 11:15 a.m.

The judges of the trial-at-bar ordered the windows of the court complex kept open and asked the officials to make arrangements for Fonseka to deliver the dock statement from an illuminated place near a window, court sources said.

However, as soon as Fonseka commenced the statement power came back and he delivered the dock statement as scheduled with the help of a microphone without any other obstacle, judiciary sources said.
