Sri Lanka's major opposition United National Party (UNP) sources say that a group of UNP MPs are getting ready to go to courts against the party leadership.
The sources said that the MPs were to charge the leadership for violating the party constitution.
The rebels say that not appointing the national organizer and the required number of members for the party working committee before April 12 in line with the new UNP constitution was against law.
The MPs also protest the appointing of former MP Sagala Ratnayake as the International Secretary of the UNP on the basis the official had no diplomatic passport.
