Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom have come to an agreement to increase the number of flights between the two countries, Airport and Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka reported.

Accordingly, the number of direct flights between the two countries is to be increased to 21 from the present 14 flights.
The British government has also agreed to extend these flights to Canada, says the Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation Ranjith Silva. Consequently, Sri Lanka will operate seven flights in a week to Canada, an official said.

In addition, several leading British airline companies have also agreed to commence flights to Sri Lanka, he added.
