Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (UNP) today charged that the country will have to face difficulties in future due to the policies of the current administration.
UNP Kurunegala District parliamentarian Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has said that since the people have been made aware of the problems the country would have to face in future, they cannot blame the UNP after voting for the governing Freedom Alliance.
He warned of price hikes in essential commodities and an increase in inflation in future.
According to Kariyawasam, Sri Lanka could be the next Egypt where the nation might force its rulers to resign.
