Sri Lanka's Democratic National Alliance (DNA) led by former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka today said the people knew Fonseka is innocent regardless of the verdicts issued by the country's judiciary.
Addressing a press conference, DNA MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said the people could not expect the safeguarding of their democratic rights and freedom from the country's judiciary.
He said the people knew the truth and that Fonseka would therefore receive the proper judgment in the people's court.
According to Dissanayake, Fonseka has not lost his parliamentary seat as the writ application filed before the Court of Appeal was only to challenge the decision of the Court Martial.
