Sri Lankan government dismisses rumors about Chief Justice resigning from post

The Sri Lankan government Tuesday informed the parliament the rumor that Chief Justice Asoka De Silva has resigned from his post were false.

Leader of the House, Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva dismissed rumors that Chief Justice De Silva had resigned from his post.

He told parliament that he could say with responsibility that there was no truth in the tale and accused the UN P of spreading rumors to cover up its bankruptcy.

Minister De Silva made this comment in response to a question posed by Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe on whether Chief Justice De Silva had resigned from his post.
