Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau says that the number of persons that left country for foreign employment in 2010 has increased compared to 2009.
Accordingly, 266,445 persons have left country for foreign employment after registering in the Foreign Employment Bureau.
The annual income of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau has also increased to USD 500 million. The Bureau has projected to increase this to USD 750 million this year.
Tamils in previously terrorism affected areas going for foreign employment, increase of jobs offered by South Korea and diversifying the job market have contributed to the development, says the Bureau.
