Sri Lanka's External Affairs Minister Prof. G. L. Peiris has said that Sri Lankan missions overseas would be made aware of the employment contracts entered into by Sri Lankan migrants with employment agencies.
Addressing a ceremony in Colombo, Prof. Peiris has said this would help resolve the issues currently faced by Sri Lankan migrant workers.
He has added that new rules and regulations needed to be enforced in a society where contracts that employees enter into are not properly enforced.
The Minister has also called on civil groups and religious organizations to play an active role in resolving the problems faced by Sri Lankan migrant workers.
