Unknown assailants have fatally shot the Assistant Director of Education of Walikamam at Urumpirai, Kopai in Jaffna district yesterday around 11:30 p.m. police said.
The victim succumbed to injuries after he was admitted to Jaffna hospital.
A casing of a 9 mm ammunition was found from the scene of crime, police say.
Jaffna Police are conducting further investigations.
