Minister calls on Sri Lankan expatriates to stand against adverse propaganda on the country

A Sri Lankan government minister has called on Sri Lankan expatriates to stand against adverse propaganda carried out by LTTE sympathizers.

Irrigation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva addressing a gathering at the launch of a Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) website in Melbourne, Australia has called on the Sri Lankan expatriates to render their duty and responsibility to their country.

He has said that their relatives and friends living back in Sri Lanka expected them to perform their duty to the country.

De Silva has noted that following the defeat of terrorism, Sri Lanka was on a mega development path and that it was important to present the proper picture of the country to the international community.

The Minister has also blamed the main opposition UNP and the Marxist JVP for carrying out anti-Sri Lankan propaganda campaigns.
