AIADMK hunger strike boost-up TN's election mood

Indian politics steeped in to the Gandhi's era. All state politicians are following foot steps of Mahatma Gandhi by taking hunger strike as a powerful weapon to address the issue. The AIADMK members, to began hunger strike on Monday, Dec 27, in Perambaluar, when Tamil Nadu elections are few months away. The AIADMK members held hunger strike against Former Telcom Minister A Raja related to his alleged involvement in 2G spectrum allocation scam. Perambaluar is home of Raja.


The 2G scam has turned out to be one of the strong weapon for AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa, against the ruling DMK govt in Tamil Nadu. The 2G scam has already became the top agenda for Opposition parties in Tamil Nadu. The pressure by Opposition and Raja being probed by CBI has caused an embarrassment for DMK party.

Hence DMK held series of meetings to preserve mandate in forthcoming election and advertized A Raja as a hero, who let mobile revolution in India. DMK also blamed for several corruption that happen during AIADMK tenure.

Jayalalithaa said, “as I continued to raise 2G scam issue. Just to cover up the Himalayan corruption, DMK chief has been raising some unwanted and unconnected issues. This shows that he is in the verge of despair.”

“But since AIADMK had given clean govt, he had no room to introduce new charges against me. Therefore, he is parroting about the old allegations against me,” she added.
