Sri Lanka's DNA sacks coalition partner

Sri Lanka's Democratic National Alliance (DNA) led by former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka today sacked the Nava Sihala Urumaya from the Alliance.
The decision to sack the Nava Sihala Urumaya and its leader Sarath Manamendra was made at the DNA executive committee meeting held this morning.

DNA Chairman Tiran Alles and member Jayantha Ketagoda have said that Manamendra had on several occasions informed them that he wanted to leave the DNA and join either the government or the UNP in order to resolve some financial issues faced by him.

Following a lengthy discussion, the DNA executive committee unanimously decided to sack Manamendra and the Nava Sihala Urumaya from the DNA.
