The Sri Lankan government has said that a minimum age would be applied for those seeking foreign employment.
Foreign Employment and Welfare Minister Dilan Perera has said that the minimum age for Sri Lankans seeking overseas employment jobs should be 21.
Perera has said that it was the lack of such laws that have resulted in situations like Rizana Nafeek facing execution in Saudi Arabia.
He has added that measures would be taken to avoid such incidents from taking place in future.
