Sri Lanka Ministry of Fisheries has decided to grant permission to Saudi Arabia to fish in Sri Lankan waters.
The agreement in this regard is to be signed in December. Saudi Arabia has agreed to pay 20% of the harvest to Sri Lanka as royalty.
Following the agreement, 400 Saudi Arabian boats are to arrive in Sri Lankan territorial waters for fishing, says the Minister of Fisheries Rajitha Senarathna. They will engage in deep sea fishing in Sri Lankan territorial waters, he added.
