Family suspects foul play in Sri Lankan housemaid's suicide in Jordan

The family of a Sri Lankan housemaid who suddenly died in Jordan says they have doubts about the death of their family member.

The 31-year-old housemaid, M.C. Niluka Damayanthi died two weeks ago due to injuries caused by falling from a seven-story building in Jordan. Her death was reported as a suicide by Jordanian authorities.

The family has conveyed their suspicions to the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau.

The body of the deceased was flown home yesterday by Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau and her remains are now kept in her house in Mahenagama, Warakapola in Kurunegala district.
