Sri Lankan government takes legal actions against 332 electricity thieves in Kilinochchi

Sri Lanka Ministry of Power and Energy says that legal actions were taken against 332 persons in Kilinochchi who were found guilty of malpractices related to use of electricity.

Fines imposed on them are over Rs. 6.7 million, the Ministry said.
The Ministry further pointed out that the Ceylon Electricity Board loses due to reasons of this sort.

Kilinochchi is the former capital of the de facto state of the Tamil rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. All the civilians of Kilinochchi were displaced in the beginning of 2009 and the displaced were resettled there recently.
