Second Sri Lanka-built ship for India to flag off

Colombo Dockyard PLC announces that the second passenger ship built by Sri Lanka would be handed over to India next week.

The chief of Colombo Dockyard marketing division Prince Lye told media that the ship built in Sri Lanka is worth over Rs. two billion.
Colombo Dockyard delivered MV Arabian Sea, the first of two passenger-cum-cargo vessels ordered by the Administration of Union Territories of Lakshadweep, India on the 15th of January 2010.
MV Arabian Sea is the first and the largest sea going 250-passenger ship constructed in Sri Lankan maritime industry for the international market that can also carry 100 tonnes of cargo.
These passenger-cum-cargo vessels will be in operation en-route from the Main Land (Cochin, India) to UTL Islands, as well as operating in the inter island routes.
